Shadows of Ourselves is a work whose goal is to stretch the extension of musical possibilities available to the standard clarinet quartet, especially in rhythmic capability and agility.
The work is a byproduct of some of my inner thoughts and emotions (some good, some not so good) during my later undergraduate years at the University of Tennessee Martin. Shifting between constant moods and vibrancies, the work churns through multiple different pictures of a sort of emotional exhibition as it journeys to its triumphant ending. |
